Course Guidelines
Pre-Course Materials
Registrants are to complete 16 hours of pre-course reading and written assignments.
- Assignment materials are sent out upon registration.
- Due date for assignments this course are October 16, 2026.
Attendance Requirements
- Please be prepared to attend this highly interactive, experiential workshop. Even though we will be meeting online, you will occasionally work closely with other participants and your presence matters!!
- Please make sure your full name is displayed in Zoom. We will need to see your full name to track your attendance.
- Attendance will be monitored for this event. Participants will be required to keep their webcam on, and to be present at their devices, other than during a break.
- Attendees will be asked to forego distractions, such as answering the telephone, in the same way you would in a live event. Microphones will be muted to reduce background noise but can be unmuted to ask questions and participate in small group activities.
NOTE: All times are in Central. Please be aware of this if you are not in the Central time zone and plan to arrange to attend the workshop at the start time through the end time.
Technology
Tech requirements:
- This event will be hosted on Zoom. You will need to create a Zoom account if you do not already have one at https://zoom.us/signup . You can read about Zoom here: https://zoom.us/about
- Participants MUST use a webcam and a microphone. Most computers have built in webcams and microphones. (Not sure if yours does? See if the information in this article helps: https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-tell-if-you-have-microphones-webcam-on-your-laptop)
Tech recommendations:
- Registrants will need reliable high-speed internet connection and should be able to login from a laptop, tablet, or smart phone with the Zoom app. We recommend that you test internet connection, webcam and speaker sound prior to the training.
- Fully charge computer equipment and have electrical cord plugged in throughout the workshop.
- Throughout the workshop, the speaker will occasionally break up the attendees into small groups, just like we would in person. Be prepared to have your camera and microphone on in order to participate.
- Communicate with other persons in the office/household that you will be using an Internet connection during the conference. Friendly reminder: if others are streaming movies, playing video games and participating in video conferencing meetings—this may disrupt your Internet service.
- Have access to a mobile device/telephone, if you need to call into the telephone line.
- Please double check that any client and/or HR confidential materials cannot be seen by the camera.
- Safety FIRST: Driving is NOT allowed while attending the workshop.
