The Bridge Deck Construction Inspection Program at The Concrete Bridge Engineering Institute is a three day training which provides hands-on experience with a full scale bridge. The goal of this training is to ensure the proper initial construction of concrete bridge decks.
The program covers a variety of bridge deck construction techniques, including those that utilize precast deck panels and associated technologies. The training implements the information in the FHWA document State-of-the-Practice Report for Partial Depth Precast Deck Panels and the full-scale components include built-in problems encountered in the field alongside the correct installation.

There will also be a tour of the CBEI Component Collection and Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory.

Cost
Attendance Fee: $4,500
Members of ASBI, PCI, or PTI will receive a 50% discount, for a rate of $2,250.
Members of an NCBC Organization will receive a 15% discount, for a rate of $3,825.
Pooled fund members will attend free until the sponsorship agreement has been met.
Registration for non-pooled fund members will open approximately two months prior to the event.
Refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations, with a $50 cancellation fee deducted from the attendance fee.
Time
Training is from 8:00-5:00pm CDT.
Doors will open at 7:30 for check-in and coffee.

CBEI is located in Building 177 adjacent to the Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin’s J.J. Pickle Research Center in North Austin. Building 177 houses the administrative offices and conference rooms for CBEI and the Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory. Parking is adjacent to the building.

Transportation
Participants will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the training site. The University of Texas at Austin requires a parking pass to be displayed at all times so if you bring a vehicle, a pass will be provided to you during check-in at the training.
Additional Information
Participants will receive a certificate of completion for the class for 18 Professional Development Hours (PDHs).
PPE will not be required in Building 177 but is required at the outdoor sites. Dress accordingly in typical jobsite attire: long pants, steel toed shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, and a short or long sleeved shirt. We have additional PPE available if you are unable to bring your own due to travel constraints.
