The Annual Texas School Social Workers Conference is one of the longest-running and largest continuing education events dedicated to supporting the professional growth of school social workers across Texas.
Now in its 36th year, the conference invites school social workers, educators, mental health professionals, community partners, and advocates to come together around the 2027 theme, The Heartbeat of Healing. This year’s program honors school social workers as a steady, life-giving presence within Texas schools and highlights the essential role they play in supporting students, families, and communities.
Participants will gain access to timely, relevant, and engaging continuing education designed to strengthen practice, build connection, and inspire renewed purpose. Sessions will explore healing-centered and strengths-based approaches, innovative practices, evidence-informed interventions, policy and systems navigation, advocacy, collaboration, mental wellness, and strategies that promote student success.
Whether you are seeking meaningful professional development, new tools for your work, or connection with colleagues who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of school social work, this conference offers a valuable space to learn, reflect, and recharge.
The first day of the conference features three hours of ethics CEUs and an interactive, motivational opening keynote. The second and third days offer a dynamic mix of inspiring keynote presentations and breakout workshops led by local and national peers who bring practical insight, fresh ideas, and real-world strategies for school-based practice.
UT Social Work conferences, programs, and events are conducted in compliance with all applicable requirements. We are committed to fostering an environment that is welcoming and respectful of all participants. All are invited to engage and participate fully in every panel, program, and event.
